I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and relocated to the Pacific Northwest for pediatric residency training at Seattle Children's Hospital. I chose to pursue a career in adolescent medicine to support young people and their families during the critical transition from childhood to adulthood. I am inspired by the incredible potential I see in my patients as they face the medical and psychosocial challenges of adolescence. I am also working on developing a digital tool that will help parents and supportive adults talk to their kids about growing up, puberty and sex. I have conducted research focused on improving sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents in school-based health centers, primary care settings, and low-resource, international settings in Kenya.
