I try to do my best at all times. I believe that if you're not your best, never rest until your good is better and your better is best. I strive to maintain an attitude of possibility and to leave people better than I found them. I have a special interest in sports medicine, and I am familiar with alternative medical practices in the area of pain management, including biofeedback, hydrotherapy, and hydromassage.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. After joining the army and traveling around the country, I consider many different places home. I am married to the love of my life, a former nurse. We met at the Walter Reed Army Center, and we have twin son and two dogs. An older son lives abroad with his family. I was inspired to become a pediatrician by my own childhood pediatrician, an example in our community. He impacted the lives of those around him in such a good way that it made me want to do the same. In addition to practicing here at Kaiser Permanente, I am an award-winning children's book author; I created a team of superheroes featured in a five-part comic book series that helps kids understand and better manage their asthma.
I try to keep my life balanced. I stay active by running and playing basketball, and I relax by cooking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy writing and drawing. Mentorship and volunteer work are important parts of my life, as well.
