"I strive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that is based on the best-applicable evidence."
Board certified Radiation Oncology
By aligning provider incentives with the best interests of our patients, Kaiser Permanente provides an environment where both patients and providers can thrive. I love working for an organization that shares my values and supports equal access to high-quality health care for all. I strive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that is based on the best-applicable evidence. I serve a diverse population of patients with malignant and benign neoplastic diseases and enjoy applying the ingenious technologies of my field to cure them and improve cancer patients’ quality of life. I am the local chief for the Radiation Oncology department. I serve on the Medical Technologies Assessment Committee helping to ensure that new treatments, medicines, and medical devices have been scientifically proven to be safe and effective before being routinely used in patient care.
I went to medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed my residency at Oregon Health & Science University. My two wonderful sons keep my wife and I busy. I wanted to pursue a career based in science that would allow me to engage with people in meaningful ways. Medicine was a perfect fit. Helping people to address their health concerns is deeply rewarding.
My family and I love living in Seattle. We take full advantage of the rich natural beauty of the region by hiking, skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and swimming. We try to get outdoors as often as possible, rain or shine. Our favorite vacations involve getting together with extended family, typically at scenic locations around the Pacific Northwest. I stay healthy by spending quality time with my family, getting regular exercise, eating a healthy diet, and getting enough sleep (at least in theory).
