"It has always been my lifelong dream to become a physician. It is gratifying to be given the opportunity to serve patients and their families."
One of my life's mantras is prevention is better than cure. I have always emphasized to both my family and patients the importance of consistent and timely health maintenance to help sustain a healthy life. I also strive to facilitate shared decision making, where I listen attentively and then discuss different resources and options to achieve health goals. I enjoy women's health and working with adolescents and the elderly. I joined Kaiser Permanente because it represents what I strive to promote daily as a physician: Compassionate service, dedicated teamwork, and investment in the growth of individual staff members and the organization through research and meaningful partnerships.
I am originally from the beautiful city of Montego Bay, Jamaica. I spent most of my summers enjoying my extended family in Long Island, New York. On completion of my medical training in Jamaica, I moved to Tacoma, Washington for residency training. I am married to my best friend and traveling partner. It has always been my lifelong dream to become a physician. I was always the nurturer while growing up with two older brothers, and I believe that I was born to be a servant leader in my community and by extension the world. I enjoy the diversity of family medicine. It is gratifying to be given the opportunity to serve patients and their families.
I enjoy creating gourmet meals for my family, trying different cuisines, swimming, reading, and traveling the world with family and friends. I surround myself with positivity through music, prayer, the spoken Word, literature, and good food. Laughter is very important. I always try to inspire others, which keeps me inspired and motivated. I love volunteering in my community.
