With many options on how to apply my biology degree, I decided to pursue optometry; it seemed like the perfect combination of science and helping others. I joined Kaiser Permanente to provide the best care possible. The organization's multidisciplinary approach allows me to coordinate care with providers from various specialties so that patient goals are met. My interests include ocular disease, primary eye care, and the total well-being of my patients. To ensure that all aspects of a patient's care are being addressed, it's necessary to work with other specialists. My approach to care includes active listening, patient education, and empowerment. I love it when patients ask me questions so I can personalize the care they receive. It's a privilege serving them. I provide eye care to patients of all ages, but I specialize in serving the geriatric and veteran populations. I also have a special interest in managing ocular conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
