"I gain satisfaction in helping patients meet their goals and transform their lives."
Optometry is a stimulating and rewarding career centered on patient care. Optometrists are often the first port of call for members of the public suffering from vision problems, and play a increasingly important role. I joined Kaiser Permanente because it prioritizes preventive medicine, evidence-based care, and wellness. I consider the doctor-patient interaction essential in understanding patient goals and concerns. I gain satisfaction in helping patients meet their goals and transforming their lives. My focus area is pediatrics, but I serve all ages. I like practicing optometry because it is part of primary care, and it allows me to manage eye care for patients and refer them to specialists or family medicine providers if necessary.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and consider Seattle my home. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Oregon. I am married to a wonderful man, and we have two children. We like to travel and enjoy hiking in the northwest.
Its rewarding to be involved in the community by providing vision exams at the Special Olympics and at the Millionair Club charity. I like to help people around me succeed. I try to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle and encourage others to do so.
