After emigrating from Seoul, South Korea, as a young child, I was raised in Los Angeles, California, and moved after professional training to Seattle, where I now call home. I graduated from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed both my residency and my fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I am board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. I am happily married with 2 children who share my love of medicine and helping others; one became a physician and the other a social worker. As clinical associate professor at the University of Washington Department of Ophthalmology, I enjoy teaching medical students, residents, and ophthalmic assistants about ophthalmology and oculoplastics (ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery).
