"My goal with is to help my patients understand their eye condition, and work together to find solutions that will work best for them."
I am interested in eye health and function, and also in the total health of my patients. In many ways, a healthy body can contribute to healthy eyes. My goal with each visit is to help my patients understand their eye condition, and work together to find solutions that will work best for them. My favorite part of my practice is getting to know my patients from childhood through their retired years. Everyone has a unique experience and outlook on life, and I get a small sample with every visit. It is a privilege to preserve and improve vision for my patients. Practicing at Kaiser Permanente allows me to collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialties to offer the best care for my patients.
I was born in Arizona, and grew up in Wyoming. I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1994, and loved it so much I never left. I am married, and have two children who love animals. We have many pets to prove it. I was first introduced to eye care as a child in need of glasses. My experience with my eye doctors has always been very positive. The options to correct vision were intriguing and helpful, and I wanted to provide practical solutions for other people as well. It is a priority for me to keep up on the latest vision science and research to better serve my patients.
I love to spend as much time as possible with my wife and quickly growing kids. Traveling with them keeps me refreshed. I like to try new foods, explore new places, and enjoy cycling, paddling, and hiking.
