Optometry - Contact Lens
I strive to explain my findings to each of my patients so that they can actively be a part of their own care. I believe people take better care of themselves when they fully understand the reason for their symptoms or concerns. I still continue to be amazed at the perfect composition and workings of the human body, and how well it all works together. This allows me to practice eye care as a part of the whole being. I joined Kaiser Permanente because of its emphasis on high-quality, comprehensive care and the collaboration between multiple specialties.
I was born and raised in Nairobi and Kenya, and came to the Pacific Northwest for college and graduate work. I have lived here for almost 30 years. My husband and I have two handsome boys aged 10 and 15. I come from a family of clinicians, and have always had an interest in the medical field. I am fluent in Swahili, Punjabi, and Hindi as well as English.
I enjoy Crossfit, running, skiing, and kayaking. My passions include growing orchids and traveling. I recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with my family. I enjoy the quietness of the morning, and start each day with exercise. This allows me to take care of my own health before taking care of the health of my patients. I also love to cook, and am always exploring new recipes for my family.
